1966 Trucks

i set the timing between 8 & 9 then i shift it into drive and it sounded great but i was told to set it at 10 so i set the timing to 10 and i shift it into drive and it started missing hard it was a pounding miss it shook the truck so i turned it back down to between 8 and 9 and it does good but i want to find out the exact timing it should be and if its 10 then what can i do to fix the missing could it be i have the carb mixture wrong ?

HELPFUL INFO FROM YOU GUYS – CORRECT TIMING & HOW SHOULD I ADJUST THE CARB MIXTURE AND IDLE TO MATCH THE TIMING

this happened about 6 years after my previous question in 1966. we set up camp for the weekend. elvis [another freind named brandon nickname] put on some beef stew around sunset. i was putting up a tent brandon and kyle were looking for wood when the came running back they claimed they saw a batman. i had heard about it but passed it off we were in virgina. then when i took out my rifle and started loading it elvis jumped into the tent and brandon & kyle ran to the car. i saw big red eyes behind the tree we all jumped into the tent and elvis peeked throw the flap the thing was squated down by the fire. elvis threw out a firecracker. and it just backed up a little. we were debatind whet to do. finally i gave brandon my rifle and i pulled out my .357 we jumped out of the tent i fired 3 shots [i think one hit] and we ran to my truck. we left the camp. kyle took the shotgun from under the seat. and we drove to town went back the next day, our camp was destroyed. we always took guns with us
i’m not 100% sure what the hell it was when i saw the eyes in the trees the looked pretty far up. they where big and glowing. when elvis looked out the flap he never gave good detail but said it looked 6′ 10” skinny and was black. when we came back the next day our food was still there the tent was kicked down the fire was blown out and it looked like there was some blood or something about 20 feet from the tree line. It looked like it just disappeared in thin air.
i started to look at my comments this happened in 1966 not 1972 like the 3 comment suggest

A few details that I remember: Children were escaping in back of a truck (I believe carrying garbage, children were hidden under a tarp). One local man helping the children escape was caught, then executed by firing squad by Germans. An attractive, young/middle-aged woman is also caught as she is helping the children escape, and summarily sentenced to death. Near the very end of the movie, the soldiers on firing squad do not shoot the woman who was helping the children. The soldiers all shoot above her head, and in the struggle, the German officer, who appeared in a slightly sympathetic role, is shot and killed. I believe that this black & white movie was a British production, made sometime in the early- to mid-1960s, certainly no later than 1965 or 1966, since I saw it on British public TV in 1968. We have 2 Harley Davidson’s , a Motor Home, 3 cars,& 1 1966 Chev. Panel truck to move & years of accumilation to move. How do we go about moving the cheapest way possible? We are hopefully moving to the Salmon River in Idaho about 300miles away, but not right after the closing on my house. We will have a couple weeks in between the closing on my house & the closing on the MT. property. I am very open to suggestions. We are unable to do the whole thing by ourselves.

Bob I& I have been through a lot since we got hitched on11/14/1969 at a high school sady hawkins dance..me got married 9/15/1973 and two childered 1974 &1975 I lost two after that………..Bob has always been into the old car but in order to raise & support our family he put his dreams on hold…and became a truck driver…he drove truck for 34 yrs ……..at his last job due to lifting the heavy windows he injurud hurt back causing him to have surgury…he is now on Socialty securty…
I am also on SSD due to a massive heart attach in 1993 I am a miracle……………..I cold write a book. but for right now after every thing myhushand has been through I’m hoping that having his cyclone overhauled it would be a feeling of accomplishment to his life he watches you show faithly…..I have no I dea what it would cost………….But we have have 1986 Peterbuilt truck which we been trying to sell to pay medical bills & keep the mgt. paid & keep the house running………..I’s killing him seeing the car just rotting away so my son & daughter told me to write you & see if maybe you could use it for pormation to your program & at the same time it would make 57 yr old grandpa some thing he could race & go to car showes …I want end need detailes about the fee to put Bob’s car on your show…..Please feel free to contact me………just so you kmow he has been wooking alittle at a time all the parts are in the car………….I think it has a 424 engine in it & it does run.
