need help with a ford truck?
I just bought an 1966 ford f100 the problem I am having is that when i bought this truck it did not have the drive shaft. The truck has the 352 motor,4 speed with bulldog trans, and ford 9inch posi track rearend..The drive shaft that is suppose to be in it is a two piece,,I have the piece that fits in the trans but i dont have the piece that goes into the rearend..does anyone know were i can find one or if any other would from another car or truck
I just bought an 66 ford f100..the truck came without a driveshaft..This truck is all orginal other than the trany..This truck has the orginal 352 motor,4 speed trany(not orginal) with bull dog,and the orginal 9inch posi track rearend..I have checked every junk yard in my town and the surrounding areas…The only thing that I know is that it was the factory 2 piece driveshaft…I would have one made but i am afraid that it would cost more that what i gave for the truck which was 800 dollars..the truck has 56 thousand org miles on it so i have to get this fixed so that I can start driving it..does anyone know if I could use a later model truck for the driveshaft and if so which year

Bradley, you have the best resource there is for interchangeable parts.
get back on the phone to one of the yards and ask them which years are applicable. they have the largest and most complete data base on the planet!
find one that will search their data base for the part (other yards). not all do this. but a lot are now sharing a data base online.

You’d have to find a salvage yard that specializes in older vehicles. Otherwise, a driveline shop that works on driveshafts can make you one from scratch.

you might try the junk yard. maybe they can fix you up with 1 or if you don,t mind buying new then check with jc whitney, they sell stuff for older vehicles.

I’d take it to a shop and have a driveshaft made.It sounds like nothing in the drivetrain is original equipment. if you do find an original equipment driveshaft it may not work anyway.
